Summary: Over the last decades, the labour market is undergoing transformation, resulting new demand for both the demand and supply side. It is difficult to adapt to the accelerated changes in the market for many employers, so labour flexibility is very important. In my publication I am dealing with the temporary agency work, a special employment form, which can be a solution for the quick handling of temporary problems for employers. The judgement about the temporary agency work hectically changed, but unanimous acceptance and support cannot yet be discussed. Nonetheless, temporary agency work is nowadays used to hire a highly skilled workforce for a short period of time (e.g. reorganization, crisis management and project) and to perform trained tasks (e.g. serving their dumping orders) with the use of lower skilled workers. Based on the Hungarian legislation in force, the available national register of temporary agency work agencies and private recruitment agencies is closely linked to the work of the National Employment Service, so I have prepared the data needed to analyse the current situation of the temporary agency work by using the database of this organization.

Az IKT okozta paradigmaváltás = Paradigm shift generated by ICT24-36 [324.41 kB - PDF]EPA-03448-00015-0030

Summary: Development of information and communication technologies (ICT) including the digital networks becoming generally accessible nearly in all over the world commenced changes similar to that of the steam engine and the industrial revolution: these changes re-order our world we have been accustomed to. These changes, additionally, have attributes we have never seen, a “new, different world is being created out of nothing(?)” and bigger and bigger proportion of our physical activities is being done in this new virtual world from everyday shopping up to scientific research. Our virtual world and its interference with our everyday life results in, or demands, such changes in our thinking that we can, or better to say, speak about a paradigm shift. It this paper I'll show the most interesting and important phenomena and their effect on our everyday life of this paradigm shift that means that a lot of rules we have been accustomed to for centuries are not valid any more. One of them is, for example, that you will know that your car has not been stolen (yet) if it is on the same place you left it while, on the other hand, it is not valid for your computerized data. I'm investigating, additionally, the effect of these phenomena on our thinking; more precisely I'm investigating in what way our thinking should change in order to better accommodate to the new paradigm of the virtual world -- or to accommodate at all.

Summary: The population in our country has been steadily decreasing since the early 1980s due to the decreasing birth rate and the increasing mortality rate. The healthy organizational model also includes elements that can be put into practice. It brings together the economic needs of an institution, the commitment and satisfaction of its employees, and customer satisfaction. Lean management has been studied by healthcare providers, car manufacturers and other industries. My research is novel because it draws parallel between the tools of corporate culture, the internal organizational structure and the "healthy operation" of a human resource organization serving it in the case of small and medium-sized businesses and institutions. The empirical research involves how the activity provided by employers develops and what impacts affect the employee by including the population in Zala County. My research examines the extent to which lean management tools can be implanted in practice, how dominant the type of leader is and how the type of recognition affects the health and motivation of the employee. The empirical research took place in Zala County, where a quantitative research was performed using questionnaires. The sample population that we calculated involved 508 people, of which 49% were male and 51% female. The survey represented the active workers in the county by gender. The relation between lean management and health promotion throws new light on the efficiency of corporate culture levels. The problem may arise from the fact that the organizational culture in lean management is far from having feudalistic hierarchy and culture, unlike several institutions and small and medium-sized enterprises. In this case, the behaviour of the management is process-oriented in decision-making and problem-solving, it sets goals involving the workers, who are treated as partners. Important elements in the transfer of knowledge include the exploration of the root causes, self-criticism, efforts to minimise losses, two-way communication channels, systematic innovation and knowledge sharing.

Summary: The role of organic agriculture and organic products has become increasingly important in recent decades. Because of significant number of people, social inequalities, distribution disparities between continents and countries, food shortages in some countries, and food overproduction in other countries, the role of health has risen mainly in welfare states. On the other hand, an increasing degree of environmental pollution has drawn attention to the need to awaken, because if we do not change our attitudes, our grandchildren will soon not see what we can see. Over the last decades, however, the spread of organic products in the North American and European continents has accelerated and nowadays not the most decisive but significant role in food markets. Based on the study, we can see that the high and expected growth could only be fulfilled in the welfare markets, and Hungary was unable to stabilize this increase. This is mainly due to the solvency of consumers and their willingness to consume. It is well known that our pursuit of health in Hungary is based on belief systems whose scientific reality is questionable. Indeed, in many cases, the reality of this is denied in several places. The young people interviewed do not yet deal with their health, they do not have problems, so they can not say it would be an important motivation factor for them. Although literature research suggests that one of the most important factors in the consumption of organic products among the elderly population is health protection and restoration of health. There is a need for adequate information to the general public and consumers, the reduction of organic products and the establishment of sales channels.

Summary: Since 2014 statistical educational practice has been modernized on Budapest Business School. The nature of this change was the conversion onto a computerised, engine room educational form. This change was a challenge for teacher and student as well. Our College began to teach statistics in practice fully conducted in MS Excel beside normal theoretical lectures. The development of the students' results was followed. The evaluation of the student’s results is a complex process that shouldn’t be described by the grades. Grades and results are influenced by several factors. Among these factors, computerised teaching method is only one of them. Our aim is to provide useful knowledge for the students that can be applied in their future carrier. Teaching statistics on computer is well-founded, due to the fact that the advanced level of competency in using MS Excel is an important expectation of the labour market in many fields. On the one hand computers simplify the data analysis process, but the other hand gives little insights into the meaning of calculations. Teaching methodologies should be monitored in order to make necessary adjustments. For this purpose, we investigated the students’ opinion via a questionnaire on some related aspects. The groups of questions covered the following ranges: the feasibility of the syllabus, the number of lectures, the types and effectiveness of the exercises, the overall usefulness of the covered material and the computer-based teaching of statistics. The analysis of the obtained answers showed differences in the opinion of Tourism and Catering compared to Commerce and Marketing students in some of the above aspects. The reasons behind these differences were subsequently investigated. The information gained by analyzing the questionnaire will highly serve our teaching work of statistics, and we should thank it to the students.

Summary: The features of generation Y and their changing habits in use of tools (GOOGLE, 2016) and the current labour market expectations pose new challenges also for language teachers: instead of frontal teaching patterns new methods aiming the development of soft skills are needed (ANDERSON - GANTZ, 2013). The German Section of the Language department is now working on the implementation of project based language teaching concept of which we have already presented in several scientific conferences (KÓSIK - KÉTYI, 2017; TÖRÖK - UGRAI, 2017). One of the main pillars of our work is the development of the teaching material, which transmits knowledge and prepares student projects. Our teaching material is based on cooperative techniques, which are of prime importance in project works: cooperation, discussion, game and competition. These tools enable collaborative knowledge building, in which the activity and proactivity of students have a central role. The main componentof the units are the project tasks, which similarly to real life mean a problem solving process. The tasks and the methodological instructions were developed by the last year established research group of innovative teachers of the German section. The other main pillar of our work is a mixed research. Our sample are first year-students learning Business German (N=65). According to our research questions the frequency of foreign language use of students in authentic, job-related situations will increase and their problem-solving and motivation skills as well. Both cooperation between the students and between the teachers are becoming increasingly intensive - “Both student and teacher learn, but also the organisation does” (NAHALKA, 2001). The pre-measurement was conducted in September 2017 already, first data analysis was made in December. The final research results complemented with our teaching experience will be available in December 2018, and we are going to publish them at several scientific conferences and journals.

Summary: Environmental education or by more modern term, the pedagogy of sustainability has developed alongside the environmental movement since the 1970s. The essence of environmental education is the love of nature and as a consequence the protection of it. Its goal is to create new attitudes toward nature from the youngest generations. We have to understand that we cannot continue to exploit nature, since on the one hand it is unethical, and on the other, we undermine the very foundations of our own existence. International organizations, including the European Union work for the awareness-raising on this topic. Mainly the Environment Action Programmes deal with it, but environmentalism is a horizontal priority within educational and other programmes too. The Green Mentor Programme, which will be presented in this article, was also funded by the European Union, under the Erasmus Plus Programme. The purpose of the article - beyond the general presentation of environmental education - is to demonstrate the Hungarian experience of the EU-funded programme. The authors mentored various businesses in their greening during the pilot process. The article introduces the methods and tools of the Green Mentor Programme and the experience we have gained in the pilot process. The reader will learn about the green mentoring process and its participants, the most commonly used tools, and the typical environmental challenges and responses of the Hungarian companies.
